Judas Priest - UFO [Chronicle]
Posted on December 13, 2015 by lmz666

There huh well quite a while since I wrote something new in the blog. And the first thing I put out now is a chronicle. On 5 December huh I was down in Stockholm again and saw Judas Priest and UFO in the globe. It became an impulse for Judas Priest very successful gig at Sweden Rock Festival in summer and the UFO I have always been curious about how they'd let live, when I used to listen to quite a lot of them as a teenager. The gig in overall huh successful speaking of both bands (especially Judas Priest), they were definitely worth the coin.

UFO and Judas Priest - Globe 20151205
On Saturday evening, it was time to go to the Globe area again, for me, the daughter and son in law, to continue the run up to my birthday (yes, I have a birthday today! Say Congratulations! :))
More ancient idols and rock icons were about to enter the stage of the Globe even this evening.
UFO and Judas Priest.
With Friday's experience in mind, so it was not entirely without were a little worried, because both the UFO and Judas have about the same average age as the bands the night before. A feeling that would prove to be completely unfounded.
UFO got up on stage and a slightly weathered, but amazingly handsome Phil Mogg quickly saw that everyone fears for their part disappeared. The appearance was simple, småfamiljärt and efficiently. Phil's voice is one of those that stands out in the genre through to be both affectionate and powerful at the same time. The whole band delivered a cool and beautiful show. Good mix of new and classic songs. The voice that was already strained since yesterday's roaring, got himself a new duel in the choir-friendly "Lights Out" and "Doctor, Doctor". A tribute to Phil for his singing and Vinnie Moore for an incredible guitar playing. And the songs! The songs! Fantastic!

Translated from Lituanian:

The first on the scene was UFO. One of the few times when a special guest machine is no less than the headline. Before a little more than half of Vilnius Main "ufonauts is a decent enough name and history with a team. When the world's raging rock areninio virus, "UFO" was the virus among the main culprits.

The show lasted an hour. And even managed to arrange a longer solo. I'm trying to imagine the public reaction to the hourly performance of a young group, but here the audience familiar "UFO" and the show was, I'd say pretty good. Of course, regardless of age. Sounded become the calling card of "Venus", "Rock Bottom" and "Iron Maiden concerts opening" Doctor, Doctor ". I saw, I heard, to see a list of teams enrolled. Both the excitement.

REVIEW

TRANSLATED FROM POLISH:
At the moment the audience gathered at the Ergo Arena easily could cram into the club Parliament. Grandstand was empty, and the disc and the golden circle divided abyss. UFO is, however, for Polish audiences of particular importance - as one of the few bands dare to come to the Vistula River in the early 80s and this experience here six times, including Olivia Hall.

Even before the first sounds of the opening performance of "Mother Mary" under the stage grew densely, and chanting the name of "UFO" appeared with regularity every second guitar solos Vinnie Moore. This is not an original member of the band, but his brilliant feats stole almost all the attention. In "Rock Bottom" "sewed" on the strings so spectacularly that, although clearly exceeded the standard length of about two or three minutes, I do not think that anyone could get bored.

UFO is a band with a colorful history, almost as colorful as their music. Any team that was in the music industry for over 40 years has had years of experience, both difficult and these fruitful, scattered in success. The success story of UFOs began in London in 1969. The team in his career survived fifteen years not only different eras of music but also many changes in the composition. To the surprise of all, to the fall of 1993 the band returned to the line-up of the former UFO covering Mogg, Waya, Schenker, Parker and Raymond. This new classical composition brought Walk On Water, their first joint edition of one and a half decade, accompanied by a world tour.

Their latest offering is A Conspiracy Of Stars, which is characterized by the lightness of being British and also a hint of rock legend from which the band is known for more than 45 years. A strong album consists of eleven songs which combine everything, which means the UFA group led by singer Phil Moggi is: original meaty riffs, varied and intelligent lyrics, and this generally laid back attitude that characterizes UFOs from the beginning.

CONCERT REVIEW

Translated from Polish

Appearing on stage veterans of UFOs. Maybe you about Phil Mogg, the singer to listen to really is a good surprise. He and his buddies, who currently make up the UFO, in the form. Andy Parker still banging on their drums. So that the hall of floating dust. Paul Raymond still looks as if hunting for the girl in the front row. Vinnie Moore is one of the best slingers in the business. For this younger, but he also did not callow Rob De Luca on bass and a recipe for hard rock firecracker ready. UFO played in Ergo Arena over their entire discography is more or less evenly, although it is known that all worthy of playing songs do not have the right fit. There were too include "Venus", "Rock Bottom" and compulsory at the end of "Doctor Doctor". The Group also performed two songs from his latest album "Conspiracy of Stars," which - I must admit - fared really very well and slotted into the rest perfectly.

Watching the show UFO suddenly reminded me why these old rock and metal bands took the whole world by storm. The executive level, a composer, an absolute play on stage, but also at the same time discipline - all this beating of UFOs. The teams is all the same whether they play in the hall, stadium, or a stuffy club. I just know what they were doing as one. I bow before the UFO. It was worth it to fall into the Ergo Arena even for this show.

But I did not come to the Ergo Arena only to show UFOs. As if I could not remember what actually found there, it reminded me of the great curtain that hung on the stage, and that represented przesłynne logo stars of the evening - Judas Priest.

TRANSLATED FROM CZECH:

Brno DRFG Arena (better known familiernější "Rondo"), filled from the board after barrier - not to mention the surging waves of the masses of people in the stands - English UFO took a ride genre history with the stroke of eight evening. I had the opportunity five years ago to see at Prague's Rock Café, and one thing is certain - a great platform suits them better. Group seemed much more relaxed, frontman Phil Mogg between bluesy singing songs - in short, eminently relaxed affair. Yet in the first few minutes ("Mother Mary"), the needle sensations in the hall rather skewed towards self-consciousness. But with the onset of the second track, "Run Boy Run" from the current studio work "Conspiracy of Stars", the mood reversed. While listening to the simultaneous formation of UFOs in mind rubbed reminiscence of the post-blackmorovské DEEP PURPLE; Only instead of keyboard instruments sparkles second guitar. Even on the Hammond organ registers but thanks instrumental skills seventy (!), Paul Raymond has occurred; In the meantime, however, Raymond dominated primarily rhythmic party their šestistrunného tools. Considering the style near the main stars of the evening the atmosphere was gaining momentum and at the latest polobaladickou "Burn Your House Down 'audience tuning in to a wave of frenetic enthusiasm. Set UFO culminated; broached came to "Let It Roll" from four decades old, "Force It", could not miss the iconic "Doctor Doctor" from Schenker era. Perfect introduction of the evening!

Translated to English

To make the tour even more attractive, Judas Priest invited her group, which also has a touch of the longest-serving performance than themselves. British UFO. Rock odličnjaki have this year already released 21 studio album, "A Conspiracy Of Stars", the current line up consists of the following men: Phil Mogg (vocals), Andy Parker (drums), Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar), Vinnie Moore (guitar )! From 2008 onwards he helps them (only on stage), bassist Rob De Luca and on the place of the retired Pete Way. UFO are getting a full hour to play hockey in the hall Rondo, the second largest Czech city Brno. The hall has 7,200 seats. For the stage, of course, a platform has been opened. He was parter is so added. Crowded hall. The seats values. According to estimates between 11,000 to 12,000 people! Already in mid-day were hotels Brno totally met. Demand for the concert is therefore exceptional.

Let's go back to the onset of UFO. Festive dressed vocalist Phil Mogg, is expected to be stepped on stage. Again accompanied by alcoholic products. Uncle swaying this way not forgetting the texts of the singing was in the breaks took more time for the addressing of the audience. In particular, it oprezal for girls in the front row. Among other things, he also praised a guy with a scarf wrapped around his head to look like Quireboys vocalist Spike. In short Mogg can not be bored at the concert. Moore and other Fellowship have looked at one another several times pending the Moog. However, the band delivered exactly what we were looking for. Devilish appearance. Riff hold and grab. They remain evergreen. The sound was excellent. Bend the ten-point delivered the fourth paragraph under the age of origin, however, have taken away the attention of the classics at the forefront of the inaugural Mother Mary, like any other cult Lights Out, Rock Bottom, Let it Roll, Only You Can Rock Me and unforgettable Doctor, Doctor, whereby the UFO decided on the strength of an energetic and colorful show. Vinnie Moore was again brilliant success in his magic stunts on guitar, the band has delivered an extremely compact stage. Even the "rocking" and moments from all the weight of alcohol cumbersome Uncle Phil, he drove performance at the required level. In short. UFO stick. Excellent performance. Attraction! The giants of rock bibles remain at mature in more than nasršeni and jagged! Sin is worth the experience.

Hand on heart. They confirm the UFO to open for Judas Priest is extra motivated mini RockLine ekipico to put on a concert of both teams all the way to the Czech Brno. And Saturday he was written. Nothing sweeter.

Vinnie Moore Andy Parker - Phil Mogg

Translated from French:

Tonight, it is the Anglo-American intergalactic UFO who have the pleasure to happen before our eyes greedy and gawking, an appetizer of choice just before Judas Priest. There have been worse as we say commonly in Blankenberge (you follow, you picked all?). The group formed in 1969 is still flown by the Londoner Phil Mogg that is moving towards its 68 spring. UFO influence and is cited as a reference by many hard rock bands. Although with a discography of 35 albums including Live 14 and 1 EP which you can add various compilations and 12 cabinets, it's getting the material to be sent in the air (that's great!) . In the heyday, it remains the trio of Phil Mogg vocals, Andy Parker on drums and Paul Raymond: guitar, keyboards and vocals. With 70 years on the clock, the native of St. Albans is the grandpa of the group. As a soloist of the lady with six strings we have the pleasure of seeing officer (and gentleman) Mr. Vinnie Moore (ex Vicious Rumours, former Alice Cooper). Shikamaru joined the flying saucer in 2004 and we do not complain to us. And finally, on bass, after the departure of whimsical Pete Way in 2008 is the US Rob De Luca who became full owner. It makes us so 3 Ricans (Parker, Moore, De Luca) and 2 Britons who? ... Who? English! Yes I know that, thank you. Which are? Mogg and Raymond, bugger of ignoramuses (Bergman)! In 55 minutes, the unidentified flying object will remind lethargic medulla of the great history of rock must always reckon with him. It is 20 hours, we are in the airport, ready to fly, it only remains to pass control, careful please present your papers please UFO. On the introduction of the famous "Faith Healer" you attack the stratosphere by "Mother Mary". No fear these young people there, we go immediately. Second planet visited "Run Boy Run" taken from their latest album "A Conspiracy of Stars". It's crazy though right? When you say "this is the last album from Indochina, you feel the stress rising, and you explode with joy, you scream that want to hear" That's it, it's over, it's the last , they said in the post! P ***** it's good, peace at last! "
UFO but you know that when we say the "last" is the release date in question and that it reassures you. Next stop, and there, my evening is good. Yes, I know, you've already read but I'll tell you every time I talk to the group: "Lights Out" prefer my title of "violent saucer". This piece is a bomb, that is said and after all, I say what I want, since it was I who wrote (and Whispers). We stop a moment on "Venus", the time to allow my neighbor row and no less friend, Jean-Marie alleviate urgent need for auditory said Venus. Small note in passing, but I guess you have already made the connection, best tracks UFO all bear the signature of Michael Schenker. What a fabulous guitarist that Germain, the little brother of Scorpions Rudolf. Mom Schenker offers us a famous pair of Teutons. Here we're at, you have already taken the sum of sizes that held a long guitar solo in the group that currently dangles before us? Come on, I have given them, in bulk: Michael Schenker (Scorpions), Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake), Paul Chapman (Lonestar), Neil Carter (Gary Moore), John Norum (Europe) and Laurence Archer (Magnum Phil Lynott) to among others. It rocke, it pulsates, it feels good where it goes! The interstellar journey continues with a passage obliged by internationally renowned galaxies such as "Only You Can Rock Me", "Let It Roll" or "Rock Bottom". But it is time to come back down to earth. The voice of the hostess resonates in the speakers: "Ladies and gentlemen, the company UFO hope you have a good trip and wish you a good stay." So bursting of sas landing, now tumble passengers struck collective frenzy and shouting "Doctor Doctor" as if their lives depended on it.

Translated from Dutch:

After all that beauty can man forget that tonight with UFO stood still as a legendary British hard rock band on stage. That this group here as so-called support act if they drove a full hour meant that this was not just a warm up. The audience was more than delighted with the set of the Priest-generation. UFO has "A Conspiracy Of Stars' new album, but of course there was no man to wait, in terms of the songs here were the old people who took care of fireworks. The sound of UFOs has always been more interested in melody and is also a lot less heavy than Priest, but also the heaviest metal fanatic has their flowing sound can always tastes. Their masterpiece is still the double live album 'Strangers In The Night', and they knew the men also, as many as six beautiful songs they played there. That had nothing inferior to the phenomenal 'Strangers In The Night' versions, particularly as singer Phil Mogg there is still quite a distance could handle it. There may very well no hair on his head, his voice remained intact. The then guitar virtuoso Michael Schenker we nor missed, and that because the equally gifted Vinnie Moore here perfectly this role inloste. Especially the long-drawn-out "Rock Bottom" was finger-licking good, but also with "Lights Out," "Only You Can Rock Me" and of course "Doctor Doctor" our nostalgia meter was significantly in the red.

We are here drawn to a piece of childhood nostalgia, and we have come back with a firm and brilliant double act on our concert counter. We are thinking to convert ourselves back to hard rocker.

CONCERT REVIEW - Translated to English:

By 8pm clock, the hall was full, it now also flow the pupils from the circulation and the outside after. None other than the hard rock legends UFO appeared in the opening act of the priest. No sooner had the musicians enter the stage, also blared already the first hard guitar sounds through the arena. With "Mother Mary" they opened the last evening of the "Redeemer Of Souls" tour. Some die-hard fans were celebrating so intense that only one-tenth of its energy would have been enough to put the entire hall in a celebratory mood. However, the majority moved still reluctant to the hard rock sound of the British. Only with the third title "Lights Out" awakened several of their silence and the celebrating crowd began to close. On grand Smaltalk renounced singer Phil Mogg largely to prefer to pop as many songs as possible around the ears to the spectators. But even such a legendary band like UFO had to stick to a schedule. So they played on the evening spread their greatest hits such as "Only You Can Rock Me", "Let It Roll", "Rock Bottom" and finally its most famous title "Doctor Doctor". Even if the party mood had not yet erupted at every completely, UFO had got off to a great start. The songs were well chosen and at least the good mood of the band also had one or two torn in the stands from his chair during the show.
