On The Waterfront
Stop Breaking Down
Can't Buy A Thrill
Villains & Thieves
Stranger In Town
We are getting close to midyear and we start to feel that 2009 is slowly
slipping by, so we hope there will be good material coming during the last
half of the year.
That's what UFO is going to do, as they will be releasing his new CD titled
"The visitor" by end of May, start of June -depending on the market-
This is the first record in years without his bass player and co-founder
Pete Way, who is undergoing a liver illness. Pete Way left the band also
during the 80's when he formed his own band Waysted. Hope he is not
"waysted" and get well soon, because UFO without him is not the same.
Now talking about "The Visitor", it is stronger than previous releases by
the band. Obviously, the band has been playing across three decades and
its sound has evolved and adapted across the timespan they have been active.
By now it's clear that choosing guitarist Vinnie Moore to join the band
was a wise move, as he contributes with his personal style and feeling to the
overall sound of the record.
Phil's voice is at a great level, giving the band a touch of southern rock
-or so it seems to me-. I have some other UFO CD's but can't recall whether
it has been the same always or it is just in this record, but the fact is
that Phil's voice gives "The visitor" a smokey, vintage rock sound. This
will be indeed a very welcome record by all the fans of classic hard rock.
Now, who's the bass player?
Phil Mogg - singer
Vinnie Moore - guitar
Paul Raymond - keyboards, guitar
Andy Parker - Drums
