THE UFO / JUDAS PRIEST CONNECTIONS

UFO kicked of their
UK tour in January 1979 to promote the bands new live album 'Strangers In The Night' along with their new guitarist Paul Chapman

The band then set off for the American touring circuit - dates also included shows guesting for RUSH and a mid slot billing at the
California 'World Music' festival.

During the summer of 1979, the initial leg of the tour, JUDAS PRIEST were 'special guest' during Priests 'Hell Bent For Leather Tour
(both British acts coincidentally promoting their groundbreaking live albums - actually Priests Live album 'Unleashed in the East' wasn't recorded until later this year in Japan).

However, in Chicago roles were reversed and
UFO became the opening act.

UFO
then added a further leg with
AC/DC
as their guests.

Judas Priest + UFO - 5/11/2012 - Palabam - Mantova

Translated from Italian:

For the second installment of 'Epitaph tour which resulted once again in Italy Judas Priest, was chosen an unusual venue, the Palabam of Mantua, as well as an opening act from the history of' Hard 'n' Heavy like UFOs.
Unfortunately we miss the band's early songs of Phil Mogg & Co., as the start time was placed at 19:30, perhaps assuming that all paying resided in Mantua area ...
Enter directly on the notes of one (of many) immortal songs as "Only You Can Rock Me" still has its charm, filled with joy once myself.
Of course, the nearly forty-five years career they feel and how, although the same singer we will put it all in no disgrace, however, can rest easy with a side of the reach of a superb guitarist Vinnie Moore and Paul Raymond always precious in undouble between keyboard and six strings.
A classic after another, which unfortunately does unleash the Italian fans in the middle (as usual hard life for special guests!) But that usually convinces no ifs or buts, I defy anyone not to bestow the right weight to songs like " Love To Love "," Too Hot To Handle "," Lights Out "and" Rock Bottom ", as exciting as ever.

After exactly one hour, British aliens descend from the stage, sure to have done their duty, just as he had, alas, forgotten in the dressing room the super hit "Doctor Doctor", always a pleasure in any case!
