"Finally back to earth after a fantastic sell-out tour of the mid-West and South-West USA. I do apologise to any fans I have run past on my way to the tour bus after coming off stage, nothing personal!
We have been on a roll since releasing Conspiracy of Stars last year, selling out the majority of UK shows, guest appearances with Judas Priest in Europe and now completing one of the most successful set of US dates in recent times.
We've got a stable line-up with Vinnie who has now been with us for almost 13 years and Rob being on board on and off since 2008.
A special mention also goes to our great crew, Eddie Oertell -Tour Manager, Eric Holshouser - FOH Sound, Andre Bargmann, Stage Tech for Andy and I, Patrick Whitwam - Stage Tech for Vinnie, Freddie Michael - Merchandiser and last but not least Cary Thompkins our trusty tour bus driver. We couldn't have done it without their hard work and dedication. I'm sure I drove them all mad playing the jazz piano CD at full volume that Andy gave me as a belated birthday present!
Many thanks to all the dedicated fans that came out to see us - we thoroughly enjoyed playing for you all and hopefully we'll be back again before too long. - Watch this space!

Concert Review: UFO @ The Canyon Club 3/24/2016
Pat Francis - 03.2016
Dressed in black and sporting a newly shaved head lead singer Phil Mogg took the stage looking like a Rock’N’Roll Nosferatu. Backed by classic line-up members Andy Parker (drums) and Paul Raymond (Keyboards, Rhythm Guitar) plus longtime lead guitarist Vinnie Moore and newcomer Rob De Luca UFO tore through a 16 song set list covering 22 studio albums from UFO’s 45 year career!
Newer songs such as “Fight Night” and “Run Boy Run” fit seamlessly into the show when played back to back with fan favorites “Lights Out” and “Too Hot To Handle.” All band members held down their part of the show effortlessly with Vinnie Moore rocking hard throughout. Moore has been in the band for over a decade and continues to breathe new life into the guitar licks created by the long departed Michael Schenker.
Rock fans will often say that the drummer is the first to go but original member Andy Parker showed absolutely no sign that retirement might be in his future. Parker pounded his drum kit into submission and kept the whole show moving like a freight train. As for the singer I can tell you without a doubt that Phil Mogg has still got the pipes. Despite his often incoherent stage patter Mogg’s voice is still in fine form and he sings every song with power and emotion.
The sold out Canyon Club audience was on its feet throughout the show and there was much hand banging and fist pumping to be found. Even one time member Simon Wright was seen in the crowd enjoying the show.
In the 2016 landscape of big stadium shows and preprogrammed auto tuned pop stars it is refreshing to see a legendary band like UFO still rocking hard after all these years.

Dave Ling from TEAM ROCK has written this very interesting article around Pete Way's interview
This article is ©2016 Team Rock and must NOT be reproduced in any way without a link and attribution to the source.
In 1980, UFO hired Beatles producer George Martin to work on their No Place To Run album. It didn't go entirely to plan...
Former UFO bass player Pete Way has looked back on the recording of his band’s album No Place To Run, made during a sun-soaked two months in 1980 at AIR Studios Monserrat with George Martin, the producer of The Beatles, who died on Tuesday.
"George was a really nice guy,” he says, “and getting to make a record with him was a complete honour.”
In an out-of-frying pan-into-fire scenario, UFO had re-appointed former Lone Star guitarist Paul ‘Tonka’ Chapman (a member during the mid-1970s) to replace Michael Schenker, who’d quit after the double-live album Strangers In The Night. The album that became No Place To Run ended a string of recordings made with Ron Nevison. Way recalls that Chrysalis had hoped Martin – who operated out of the record company’s London office – might make the band sound poppier, perhaps even tease out a hit single.“They wanted us to do what Styx and Foreigner had done – take things to the next level,” he says, laughing at the notion’s ridiculousness.
To this end they were happy to send UFO to the small Caribbean island of Monserrat, where Martin had built a studio, having fallen in love with the place during his days in the Navy. From the label’s viewpoint its atmosphere of sophistication — and a distinct lack of bars — made the place a far less dangerous workplace than London or Los Angeles.
“Rubbish!” Way snorts. “This was UFO! If you wanted to do so, you could get so completely drunk on rum that you’d fall over.”
And that’s exactly what happened, despite the band reigning in their after-hours entertainment during working hours. And make no mistake, Martin operated to a strict timetable.
“You’d start at around 11 o’clock [am] and at six [pm] there’d be a break. A gentleman in a white jacket would bring him a gin and tonic, and we’d head into the main house for a meal,” the bassist relates. “It was all very colonial and civilised – though it didn’t stay that way when Martin retired for the evening.”
According to Way, Martin had “no problem” with alcohol being consumed in the studio, and he favoured a relaxed, friendly approach.
“Sometimes in the evening we’d all meet up at the beach, of course it was warm and bright,” he recalls. “George would go into the sea and swim for miles – he was incredibly fit.”
Although Way counted himself a fan of the Beatles his real loves were the Stones, Zeppelin and Sabbath, so he wasn’t in awe of the producer, or his trusty engineer Geoff Emerick, who’d also worked on Sgt Pepper.
“George was like one of the boys, really,” he muses. “He never threw his weight about or reminded you of his reputation. He was very interested in the way that we liked to work, because it really was an experiment on both sides of the equation. For instance, he wasn’t used to recording the backing tracks first.
“Sometimes he’d ask, ‘Is Phil [Mogg] coming in today?’ because he was used to John and Paul having their lyrics ready. George would get anxious about the [lack of] words and we’d have to placate him, ‘Oh, don’t worry, they’re done’, when we all knew very well that Phil was down at the beach waterskiing.”

One really pleasing thing about this tour is the 'shake-up' and unpredictability of the Set List.
Too Hot to Handle and Baby Blue (last played live on the Seventh Deadly Summer tour in 2014) along with
Mother Mary and Let It Roll were all thrown into the mix making this 19 song's in total played
during this current tour. So far the band have performed:
1. We Belong To The Night
2. *Mother Mary
3. Fight Night
4. Run Boy Run
5. Lights Out
6. Rollin' Rollin'
7. *Baby Blue
9. OnlyYou Can Rock Me
10. Burn Your House Down
12. Love to Love
13. Messiah Of Love
14. Makin' Moves
15. Rock Bottom
16. Doctor Doctor
17. Shoot Shoot
18. *Let It Roll
19. *Too Hot To Handle
Details on which songs were played at which venues
can be seen on the TOUR SET LISTS page

Known as the 'fifth Beatle', George also worked with UFO in 1979. The bands eighth studio album, No Place to Run was released in January, 1980 by Chrysalis Records. It was the first album to feature Paul Chapman on lead guitar.
The record cover was issued in several different versions in the UK, although the only difference was the colour of the album title. Two singles were released from the album: "Young Blood" and "Letting' Go".
The album was reissued in 2009, remastered with an expanded booklet and bonus tracks.
We have lost so many great people in the music industry so far this year, but our thoughts and prayers are with George's family at this time.

UFO bassist Rob De Luca guests on episode 182 of One On One With Mitch Lafon. Rob discusses the band's latest album A Conspiracy Of Stars, their upcoming US tour (starting in March 2016), the band's recent tour supporting Judas Priest, working with Sebastian Bach, his other projects including Of Earth and Spread Eagle, as well as his Lovember Records label.
Quote from the interview: On the A Conspiracy Of Stars album: "Recording the band that is the band is always the best and we finally did that. I think that's why this record was more recognized than the previous couple records."

"I have always found this guy to be criminally underrated. One of the guitar virtuosos to emerge from Shrapnel Records in the 1980s, he has long been unleashing his distinctive style of shredding on the world, as was beautifully demonstrated on his 1980s releases like Mind’s Eye.As the new lead guitarist in UFO, having replaced Michael Schenker, he is finally getting the recognition that he deserves.
But he has not turned his back on a solo career! Aerial Visionsbeautifully demonstrates that Mr. Moore is still at the top of his game, and unleashing some of the best rock instrumentals out there. From melodic rock to bluesy material, from slower stuff to straight-up hard rock, this is an album that has all the bases covered. For fans, this one is a must own, and every bit the equal of his classic 80s work on Shrapnel"
Other bands in the Top 5 were EUROPE, STRYPER and Jeff Lynn's ELO
